Teatrul Municipal şi Regional al
Egeei de Nord(T.M.R.E.N.) a
fost primul teatru municipal was first founded in 1993 as the Municipal Theater of Chios. In
1995, the Mayor of Chios, Mr George Varkaris, signed the mutual agreement
with the Greek Ministry of Culture about the establishment of the Municipal
& Regional Theater of Northern Aegean, which was the first major Regional
Institution located in Chios. The first Arts Director of the theater was Konstantinos.
E. Marios (1995-1996), who was succeeded by Kostas Arzoglou (1996-1997).
The Municipal & Regional Theater of
Northern Aegean has presented, in its short life, a series of theatrical plays
of very significant play writers such as B. Brecht ,W. Shakespeare, P. Ziskind,
W. Masrtosimone, S. Karras, etc. The Board of Directors of the theater consists
of Dimitris Moutsatsos (President), Dimitris Res (Deputy President), John
Melekos (Financial Director), Amalia Zafiri, Panagiotis Kamitsis, Antonis
Lardas and Efi Fafaliou (Members of the board ).
